It could be said that we just couldn't leave well enough alone! During the
course of compiling a mountain of data pertaining to the results of calling
contests, it occurred to us that we could use it to come up with a ranking of
contest callers. Realizing the task at hand was not simple, and could actually
be somewhat controversial, we consulted the folks from the BCS, a former
accountant at Enron, the janitor of the Statistics Department at M.I.T., and a
connoisseur or two of mushrooms and peyote. With their expert help and advice,
we were able to develop formulas for ranking calling contests and the people
that compete in them. |
| |
| As you view these rankings, please keep in mind a few things: |
| |
| • |
Our rankings our intended to provide nothing more than good fun, and perhaps
some friendly competition among contest callers. |
| • |
They are derived directly from a mathematical formula. There is absolutely NO
human input (beyond the formulas) or subjective rating. |
| • |
They are ‘evergreen’ in the sense that they will change constantly during the
contest season as new results are posted. |
| • |
They are based on the information (results) within our databases. If you spot
something that is inaccurate or missing, let us know. |
